Does your move include any specialty items? Please review the caveats below for details!
Indoor Exercise Equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, etc)!
We can move these in most circumstances if they have been disassembled prior to our arrival. Although we often help with furniture disassembly/reassembly, we do not typically help with the disassembly/reassembly of exercise equipment. The movers could try, but we do have to admit we are not experts in this service; we cannot accept liability. If the equipment is very complex or needs to be fully broken down, including its electrical components, you could search TaskRabbit for someone to help with those specific pieces.
Peloton Bikes!
If you haven’t already, we’d ask that you review the moving instructions provided on Peloton’s website. We will handle your exercise equipment with the utmost care, but we do not insure exercise equipment (unless there is physical damage clearly caused by us). Although we can disassemble and reassemble most furniture (this process adds time), we do not assist with the disassembly and reassembly of exercise equipment. If you want further information about our liability coverage for this piece and your other belongings, please check out our policy here.
Sleep Number or Adjustable Base beds!
We do not typically help with the full dis/reassembly of Sleep Number or adjustable beds. The movers can try, but we do have to admit that we are not experts with this service, and that it could add significant time to your move, and we cannot accept liability. If the bed is very complex or needs to be fully broken down, including its electrical components, you could look on TaskRabbit for someone to prep that item prior to our arrival.
Standard Gas/Charcoal Grills!
Our crews are very experienced in disassembly and reassembly, but we are not experts in grill dis/reassembly, and it’s typically best if these grills are disassembled ahead of time or moved “as is” in a fully assembled piece. The movers could try, but we do have to admit that we are not experts with this service, and we could not accept liability. If you are able to handle that part ahead of time, that can save significant time and cost on your move. The client must move their own propane tanks. We also ask that you clean the grease traps and grill for transport.
Green Egg/Ceramic Style Smokers!
We understand these are fragile, and we’ll be very careful. It’s typically recommended that you handle them ahead of time on your own if possible. Please refer to the product website for the best information for prepping this item for a move: https://biggreenegg.com/. If you are able to remove all of the inside pieces and box those separately ahead of the move date, that will help us provide a smooth, efficient, and time-saving service to you.
Yard Structures and Outdoor Play Items!
We can move most small outdoor structures and play items if they have been fully broken down and disassembled prior to our arrival. We do not disassemble/reassemble items like sheds, trampolines, play equipment, or basketball hoops, but we can transport the fully broken-down pieces for you. If you have questions about a specific piece, please send us a photo or a link for further review.
Oversized mirrors!
We’ll take every precaution with your mirrors, but note that they are delicate items and are insured at the industry-standard rate of $.60/lb. If you can give us a few more details, such as the specific weight and dimensions, or if it is frameless, that would help. Also note that we have a 300 lb weight limit for a single item and are not always able to move oversized mirrors. If you have any photos or a link to share that would help determine whether we can move that item.
Vinyl collection!
If your vinyl record collection contains rare or very special albums, we wanted to note that our trucks and our storage facilities are typically temperate, but not temperature-controlled and we cannot insure these items. We will take great care of any boxed vinyl records, but we might recommend you keep any very special albums with you.
Overly large and heavy items!
We will not typically move any single item weighing over 300 pounds. If you can provide us with a picture of your overly large item and a weight estimate, our team can confirm if we are able to move that piece for you. We’d also typically need to come with our larger 26’ truck, which has a lift gate for heavy items. Here is a link for more information.
What about specialty items and multiple flights of stairs at a location?
We’ll take every precaution, but depending on the pieces and the building logistics, sometimes damage is inevitable. BSM insurance does not cover any scratches, nicks, scuffs, or similar. In the rare occasions where more serious damage occurs, BSM is limited to $100 liability per residence where such damage has occurred. You are welcome to review these policies here and here.
